I’m James Van Dyne, an American living in Yokohama, Japan.

I speak Japanese and write Python at BeProud.jp during the day. I used to a Mac developer in the early OS X days until I started doing more web focused programming. As a result I mostly write Python these days. I have a passing interest in Rust, but haven’t had the time to dig too deep. I like open source and contribute where I can.

I’m an advocate for the Slow Web and slowing down in general.
I enjoy cooking and making bread.
I ran for a while but got of out of the habit (toddlers are rough) , but plan to start again “real soon now”.

Thanks for reading.
