Since I started running a few months ago I've been looking for a new goal to keep me out there. It was easy at first: the weather was cooler and my goals were easier to meet. But then the infamous Japanese summer hit and it's difficult to muster up the motivation.
And then I saw it: The Fujisawa City Marathon:
Despite the name including the word marathon, it's not a marathon. It's not even a half marathon (though it's close). It's a 10 mile (16ish km) race. What's more is that the course is right along the beach in front of Enoshima.
A race along the beach in Shonan in winter means beautiful views of Mt. Fuji. I can't wait.
