Mokichi baker & sweets

The second installment in my bread series is from a fantastic bakery calledMokichiin Chigasaki.

Mokichi is in a plot of land that has a brewery, Italian, Japanese, and cafe all run by the same group so the atmosphere is similar between them: modern wa-fu. From Fujisawa it's easiest to get there by car, but it is 8 minutes from Kagawa station on the JR Sagami line.

This bakery also make some killer sausage that you can buy as well. As such I had to go for the Chorizo bread for the salty and as I'm a sucker for coffee, the coffee cinnamon roll for the sweet.

The chorizo had a little bit of a kick to it while the coffee cinnamon roll was not overly coffee flavored and not super sweet like your typical american (well anything) cinnamon roll. I tried a bite of the melon bread, quite delicious and the chicken and cheese bread too. I'd probably pass on the chicken and cheese bread and instead opt for a curry bread or something next time.

Attached to the bakery is a cafe where you can order drinks and either eat inside the cafe or outside. I've only been a twice to mokichi and I always get the hand-drip coffee, which takes about 5 minutes for them to prepare, and is served in this great cup.

Since it was a nice spring day and the seating was full, we opted to eat on a picnic bench under a tree. If you're ever in the area, Mokichi is well worth a visit.
