The Week #328
by
- π We had Field day over the weekend at Leo's school. Thankfully, the weather cooperated. The skies were blue, it wasn't too hot, and there was a cool breeze. Leo was very excited and did well. He placed second in his race (and only then because he looked to the side at the last seconds) Well done!π. Just as important as placing well is he was positive about his placement and his effort. Nothing like his original races in pre-school where he just nonchalantly walked once it became clear he wasn't going to win.Β
- π³οΈ My ballot made it to Texas. It's been received but not yet counted. Every year I vote I worry they're gonna reject it for some bogus reason. Thus far it's been ok. Fingers crossed that trend continues.
- π€ I updated my local OpenCode installation that I run against models run with docker and something has busted. Asking (other0 robots, searching and I am no closer to understanding how to fix it. It's a "malformed" request error, but all of the requests are valid JSON. It put a damper on me exploring my eBook collection via Calibre and an MCP.
- ποΈββοΈ After rearranging my office the week so I can use my gym equipment, I decided to...use my gym equipment. My realization (?) is that most programs you find out there are for people that aren't parents of small children, and hence unrealistic for someone that is to follow. i.e. Where on earth am I going to find a spare 5 hours (factoring in travel, shower etc..) a week in a way that doesn't get derailed after week 1? I'm not.Β
Instead I made (with the help of some robots) a small program that I can complete in 30 minutes. It's only 2 sets instead of 3 to fit the time requirements. I won't get ripped doing this (not the goal), but I will still get stronger over time.
Adapting advice and information for our current context is so important and easy to overlook. Things are not black and white (full program vs no program), they're always grey (a program that fits within our current constraints). It's important to remember and maintain this kind of flexibility, especially as life gives us more commitments.
