@jamesvandyne what's the go with taking bikes on trains in Japan? Do they need to be bagged, or are there some lines with compartments where bikes can just be wheeled on?

@fershad For a mini-velo like the Brompton, just folded and in a bag. For a road bike, front and or back tire off and in a bag. Any car is fine (same as a suitcase), but I try to go to the very front or very back so it’s less crowded and there’s potential for me to place it up against a wall.
